Scope | Design, make and install mesh cladding
Design, manufacture and installation of feature stainless steel mesh cladding
and stainless doors. From initial concept by the Architects Midas worked as part
of the project team with the client to provide a secure feature enclosure to the
Sky Diving simulator building.
This is the first free fall sky diving
simulation facility of its kind in the
UK, originating from Disney World,
Florida. Called AIRKIX in the UK,
it is a state-of-the-art skydiving
vertical wind tunnel designed for
the general public and for
professionals to train. Visitors are
completely immersed in the world
of high adventure skydiving with air
speeds of up to 160mph, without
ever having to pack a parachute.
Construction took place over 12
weeks with the wind tunnel motors
and plenums were fitted during
steel erection. The structure looks
stunning when illuminated at night
and can be seen for miles over the
sky line of Central MK.
