Scope | Detail, make & install Media Screen
Manufacture and installation of the BBC’s media screen support structure in Millennium square Leeds. The screen comprises maintenance platforms behind with access stairs. The structure was pre assembled after fabrication in our factory together with the plasma modules, at a value of ½ million there was no room for error. Midas worked with the client and Faber Maunsell.
Leeds Metropolitan University has relocated its School of Film, Television and Performing Arts to the flagship Electric Press development in Millennium Square, one of the most exciting developments in Leeds city centre in recent years. Key elements of the scheme, which is defined by its landmark Electric Press tower, include a brand-new theatre, 16,000 sq ft of contemporary office space within a Grade II listed building and a restaurant quarter.

The screen was delivered in the early hours of the morning via 18000kg SWL Hi-ab lorry.
The structure was Assembled complete in Millennium square and
then craned into position. The screen hangs from Suspension rods cantilevered from ballast weights on the roof and is secured back to the building façade.
