The £25.5 million New Marlowe Theatre Development will advance education in the Arts in Canterbury and East Kent by providing a redeveloped and modernised theatre with a new second performance auditorium (the Second Space), expanded and fully accessible public areas and improved creative and educational facilities.
The redevelopment will enable the creation of a comprehensive education and outreach programme, with the Second Space at its heart. The New Marlowe Theatre will bring opportunities to engage new audiences in Canterbury and across Kent in the performing and visual arts, providing innovative projects that use "theatre" to enrich educational opportunity.
Our role is to design, manufacture and erect the stainless mesh facades to the buildings exterior, approx 2000sqm, which will give a transparent aspect to the building yet protecting the core structure. Midas prides itself on working as part of the whole project team to realise the aspirations of projects such as this. We again will be tested on this project and installation at 40m high is going to be tricky.
